Strengthening relationships with our Home Care Clients

Programmed Care provide support to a number of individuals with high care needs and with these clients, it’s important we understand their needs and always match them with the right support team.

Typically, our Care Managers or Care Coordinators are the ones responsible for developing relationships with clients and their families to make sure all their care needs are well looked after. Once we understand a client’s support requirements our Resourcing Specialists set about recruiting new staff to fill any gaps and the Care Consultants manage the ongoing rosters. In this scenario, the staff sourcing and rostering the care teams do not meet clients or their families.

Resourcing Specialist, Maggie Anderson and Care Consultant, Julia Neilsen recently set about evolving this model by meeting with long term Home Care client, Greg and his wife Connie. This was a great opportunity for Maggie and Julia to gain greater insight into Greg’s care needs, as well as into his family and home life. It also provided Connie with the opportunity to raise her concerns about Greg’s care.

Maggie and Julia left the meeting filled with confidence and a renewed approach to sourcing and placing carers that are suited to Greg’s complex care. Overall, the meeting was beneficial, not only for Programmed Care’s perspective, but also to our client who was able to meet the people responsible for providing them with indirect support by building and managing their team of care workers. We expect this to be the first of many meetings to come.
