Pride @ Programmed

In June each year, the world celebrates diversity and inclusion with Pride month. Pride month takes a positive stand against discrimination and ill-treatment of LGBTI+ people, raises awareness of diversity and inclusion in all walks of society, and celebrates the progress made by LGBTI+ individuals, advocates and allies around the world.

In 2019, the Diversity Council of Australia’s “Out at Work: From Prejudice to Pride” report told us that that LGBTI+ employees who don’t feel comfortable bringing their whole selves to work were twice as likely to feel downhearted, and 45% less likely to be satisfied with their job. Programmed aims to enable our people to bring their whole selves to work and feel safe, empowered and motivated to be the best they can be.

At Programmed we’re proud to be championing a diverse and inclusive workforce across our organisation that reflects the communities we live and work in.

In support of our LGBTI+ community, we established the PRIDE Reference Group in November 2019 to create a space for all employees to engage and collaborate with representatives of the LGBTI+ community, and develop policies, procedures and practices that reflect and respond to the diverse needs of the LGBTI+ community.

As we continue to work from home and practice social distancing, Programmed will be looking to digital and social channels to celebrate Pride month and champion diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the business.
