Most of us know someone who has been affected by cancer and according to Cancer Council 1 in 2 Australian men and women will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. With several long-term staff members recently diagnosed the Rottnest team decided to raise awareness and participate in Dry July.

Dry July is a fundraiser that encourages participants to go alcohol-free in July to raise funds for people affected by cancer.  Not only did the month free of alcohol raise funds for cancer research and awareness, but it also had great health benefits for participants, such as sleeping better and having more energy!

The uptake by our management and staff was amazing with representatives from Power, Water, Housekeeping, Luggage, Trades, Asset Management and Performance units all participating.

A total of $3,042 was raised and everyone who participated felt all the better for it with clear heads and healthy minds!
